I've been meaning to get my Book of Me started again after losing the original in that fire in 2010. I have done a few pages here and there, but recently SG Scrap Squad has been posting Remember Me prompts each month. Here's January's prompt:
January’s Topic: Must-Haves• This topic lets you explain why five items are must-haves in your daily routine. This is a topic that you can have fun with, showcasing the things that are part of who you are.Photo Ideas
Take photos of five everyday "items" that you couldn't live without, or wouldn't want to live without...things that are part of your normal routine. Consider things from a variety of categories. like food and drink, grooming, leisure time, electronics, transportation, etc. If you can work yourself into one of the photos, that gives the page a personal touch.Journaling Ideas
I used a pre-made journaling block that just happened to have five numbers. On it, I listed my five items. I chose Words With Friends on my iPad, black eyeliner, my MacBook Pro, Diet Coke, and -- not because I see them each day, but because they are on my mind each day -- my two grandsons. Inside the journaling pocket, I wrote a few sentences about each item -- why it is a must-have in my daily routine.Additional/alternate topic for January• Use this sketch to showcase photos of five people who have been an important influence in your life.• While you could use family members, think about expanding the possibilities and adding people like friends, teachers, pastors, neighbors, co-workers, etc -- five people who have been meaningful and inspirational in helping you become the person you are today.
A sketch was also provided for us which I altered to fit the photos I had printed out.
I used one of my Hip Kit Club kits and some die cut flowers from Dear Lizzy that I had in one of my bins near my desk. I am quite happy with how this one turned out.
Whew! It's Friday! YAY! Weekend! What are you going to do this weekend??
