Introducing.....

Special Agent O'Rourke...that's MR. O'ROURKE to you military personnel because effective immediately rank no longer matters with his new job...yep, you read that correctly...you will never ever know his rank again. LOL (I know you civilians are shrugging your shoulders and saying so what...trust me this IS a big ole deal-LOL).

Pat graduated from Criminal Investigation Division course on Friday. Much to my dismay the photo I took of Pat receiving his Credentials didn't TAKE!!! the flash didn't go off-user error-GRRR!!! But we went out to MP Memorial Grove and got some great pix so will share them here.

Friday was also Seth's fourth birthday and I will share some pictures of that another time as they are still on the camera! ;)

Nother Job Update...and baby shower stuff

FIRST-job update or rather the answer to the question of "Where is the O'Rourke family off to next in their adventure with the US Army?" Answer: NO WHERE...yep, you read that correctly. We aren't moving. Pat got an email from CID command saying that he will be going to CID school the first week of June and then will be assigned at CID here in Fort Leonard Wood. I will celebrate later, I am WAY too tired...reason for that below!

SECOND: Baby showers...I love them. I have to tell you though, I love them MORE when someone else is doing them. Don't get me wrong...I was more than thrilled to do this for my sister's first and likely ONLY baby. She deserved every ounce of effort I put into it. She put her arms around my neck just before the shower started and said, "I love you!" and I giggled and said, "You BETTER". LOL!! I, of course, followed that with an I love you too. Can't forget to that now can we? I had my sister's two friends meet me at my mom's house at 1:30...well *I* was late. Just a little bit though. I had to feed the munchkins before we left and I had to run and buy last minute shower stuff.

Play by play-

We get there and start decorating. I had Jessica and her sister put up the crepe paper stuff-I hate that stuff. Darcie ended up putting the rest up when she arrived a little after I did. Mom held Emily while we worked because Emily of course is a lap-princess. Where there's a lap, especially if its mine, there's an Emily filling it. I love her..I do...but wish she would become a little more independent (LIKE WALK ALREADY WILL YA???) OH back to baby shower stuff. We got everything ready and had an hour before people were to start arriving so I nursed Emily and we chatted and played with the babies because Jess and Darcie had their little girls with them too.

People started arriving about half an hour early and everyone, including the guest of honor was there by 5:15. The first thing I did was have everyone introduce themselves...there were 15 of us altogether. After everyone intro'd themselves I handed out the homemade tags I made for the "don't say baby game". Then we moved onto eating! We had decided on chicken strips, four types of dips served in baby food jars (decorated by yours truly) with baby spoons for serving spoons, salad, and a veggie tray plus punch with frozen strawberry ice cubes. As soon as everyone finished eating, I played a mean game...LOL. Guess the contents of the diaper. :D Beforehand I had put dollops of baby foood into diapers and smooshed them around. Each diaper had 2-4 kinds inside it. let me tell you, some of these combinations looked like the real deal!! My sister-in-law quit playing because she was about to lose her dinner. i giggled the whole way because it was so funny to hear them YUCK and EWWW GROSS the whole way. Our cousin Lura, who has a baby boy Em's age, won this game. OH!! I forgot! I had a gift for the winner of each game to pick out and hand to Mel and then a scented candle for each winner. That way Mel got more stuff!! AFter this game, we moved along to the rice and diaper pins game which was tied between Darcie and Jenni (Jess' little sister). After that we played the memory game where a basket of baby items was left out for the girls to look at, whisked away, then they had to remember what was in it. The winner of that was Jessica. Then it was presents...TONS and TONS of presents. Too many to share. That baby does NOT need clothes...okay so she hs a long way to catch up to Emily but that's besides the point-LOL. Then cake and more punch. Then clean-up. I am BEAT!!!! But glad it was a success and glad that its over. Now bring on the baby...oh yeah, we have to wait until JUNE. sigh!!!
