Bits and Pieces!

I had a full sheet of patterned paper left from my September CKCB kit as well as some scraps from either July or August (or BOTH months).  They matched so I used these papers to make this layout!

I also used some flowers from a patterned paper that came in a Hip Kit Club kit that I fussy cut and had set aside to use on "something".  I learned a neat trick from Janet over at RTS Scrapbooking for keeping small things like this on your desktop organized!!

This has kept things that I have fussy cut or set aside to work on "later" organized.  Those are little vanity box lids from Target.  They are a BUCK each.  I also bought one of the smaller lids and the box that goes with it and you can see how if I turned it sideways that it fits on top of the stack of trays!  I also have a couple of these lids that I use to set my diffusers on in my bedroom and kitchen.  The tray protects the nightstand from spills!  Anyway, it was a great idea and I "stole" it.

Thank you for stopping by this fine Friday!  Have a great weekend!!  Be thinking and praying for me as I drive out to see my daughter out of state in the morning.  I am looking forward to seeing her but I hate to drive.  ICK.  Fourteen HOURS!!!

Is it better…your call….

I’ve completed 8 LO’s in the process of meeting my goal of cleaning up my scrappy table before dh comes home from playing soldier.  So the question I ask you….especially YOU, my friend…is it better or WORSE now?

Here’s another LO:

And a picture of my MONKEY:

And he can’t be undone by my friend’s little guy Nick…he’s just as cute in a cowboy hat, isn’t he Martha????  (the proper answer is yes…even if it IS patronizingly patting me on my back because of course any good momma thinks her kid is cuter than anyone else’s…but I just KNOW it).

Messy Desk…the goal is to make it clean

I know it’s simple *JUST CLEAN IT*, but that isn’t what needs to happen here.  The stuff on it either doesn’t have a home because it’s scraps and I’d like to use up rather than store OR it just doesn’t have a place to go because SOMEONE has too much junk.  NAH, my scrappy space is too small…yeah that’s it.  LOL

this is the view in whole…this is where I scrap.  See the issue…NO? What are ya BLIND?

The blue basket you can see?  THAT is where I normally keep things to be used up.  Like new RAKS that have been sent my direction or cool new products I have purchased and want to use rather than put away….note it IS FULL.  The orange Thickers (Robin-shield your eyeballs)…those have a place but are being used in the current LO I am working on so they are out.  There’s a basket sitting on the floor next to my feet full of Thickers.  I had to take those out of that blue mesh basket on my desk.

My Creative Space....aka Scrappy Space!

On a message board (FROM HERE TO SCRAPTERNITY) I frequent daily (tee hee), we are discussing organization of our scrapbooking areas. I am not that organized. In fact, I would call this area organized CHAOS!!!! So here are some photos of my scrap space...and ahem, I actually straightened up a little bit....so if you think this is messy, just wonder how bad it WAS before I took the photos. ;-)

So I need you also to keep this in mind, I live in a duplex that was converted into a single dwelling for large military families. (YEAH,....I am really not the only family with lots of kids HONEST peeps) So the house still has two kitchens. The second kitchen doesn't have a stove or fridge anymore but I do have my washer/dryer in there. I skipped pictures of my laundry mess...bleck!!!

Standing in the door of my Scrappy Space this is what you see. My washer/dryer is to the left and to the right is a counter top with my Sizzix and dies and next to it right at my elbow when I was taking the photo is a drying rack that is full of laundry drying!

I stand to scrap. I tend to scrap on the run so it's easier to just stand up and not sit down only to get up to separate the next set of bickering children or to stir the dinner cooking on the other side of the house-LOL!! This next set of photos is of my counter top on both sides of the sink (which comes in real handy for stuffing things that don't have a home when you need to take pix of your messy area-LOL). The first photo is the far right and I will go across the area to the left.

This next photo is what is to my left if I turn. You can see that I use the window sill for storage. I have a small table set up under the window which holds another organize chaos: my chipboard in a 12X12 paper tray-over flowing of course, my Clip It Up by Simply Renee-yes I love this thing and yes it helps me to use up things I had hidden before, and a cake stand with an altered paint can.

Here is a close up of my window sill-

This is underneath the table-those storage units hold ScrapGoods kits organized by month. Unfortunately, I couldn't fit all that I have in them since only about two kits would fit in each drawer. My thought was to put one month per drawer in each drawer...and I have been a member over there since 2003 so I have LOTS of kits. LOTS and LOTS. I have used bits and pieces of most that I have but I like to keep them together since the kit club owners took the time to put together a coordinated kit.

This is the area to my right when standing in front of my main scrappy space-just a folding card table with my sewing machine and other "junk" on it. It's a real disaster. Oh well.....

Underneath the card table-how embarrassing....LOL...more SG kits as well as another milk crate of OTHER kit club kits....

Above the card table and below the range hood that is built into the wall I have a shelf holding my Primas.

This counter top holds my Sizzix and dies. The cabinet above has MORE dies and Xyron inside. Below it in the drawer I have various tools-heat gun, wood burning tool, etc.......And below that in the cabinets are all my thrift store finds of things to alter plus the store bought things to alter (Seth's name in wood letters is one thing that is down there).

Something that makes me VERY happy

I am a pretty simple person. It doesn't take a whole lot to make me happy. I went grocery shopping a week ago. When I got home I spent a couple of hours putting things away and organizing them. Why does this make me happy? It means my family is fed. No one is going hungry. My husband has a job. We are secure. Those things make me VERY happy.

These pictures are of my food pantry just outside of my kitchen.

My Clip-It Up

So as a scrapper, I spend MOST of my time buying, stroking, and looking at my acquired stash. (Hmmmph you mean you DON'T??? UH yeah I don't BELIEVE you). So of course it NEEDS to be organized, right?? So I bought this WAY KEWL new organizing thing-a-ma-bob that was new at this year's CHA. I pre-ordered mine from Creativity Starts Here . I am so hoping this product will help me use up some of my stuff or at the very least keep my desktop clear for doing what I love to do....NOOOOOO not stroking my stash but SCRAPPING. {big eye roll emoticon needed here}. LOL!!!

Picture Share!!

So here's my newly organized paper and then one of the table I put back in my scrappy area. I use to have this table behind my computer desk in Germany, but when we moved here I didn't have room for it. The fridge (second) went out in the room where I have my laundry facilities and scrapping stuff so I put the table in it's place. Yeah we really need the second fridge but we aren't buying one so....for now this table and my Primas have a home. LOL
