I will admit it...I haven't been going to church. I think we have gone three times in 11 months. Bad me...really BAD! Before we left for Germany in 2001, I was feeling the need to change churches due to some things that were making me VERY uncomfortable. I had been praying about it and I really feel that the Holy Spirit was telling me to make that move. Well we did-all the way to Germany where we attended church at the chapel until Seth made it nearly impossible to go. He would CRY and CRY during service and I don't like to put my little babies under a year old in nursery-too many germs. So I stopped going because to sit outside the church so that my 4-5 month old baby wouldn't disturb the congregation really meant to sit OUTSIDE in the snow, freezing to death. I tried going back with him several times but just spent more time outside the service than inside. Ok-rambling (this blog is titled Tara's Ramblings ya know).
So we get back here to Missouri and I tried going back to my old church-you know the one I felt that the Holy Spirit was asking me to leave 4 years earlier. Well I still felt things weren't right...and still felt that gentle tug..OK big yank by this point. If you have ever had God tug at your heart you know exactly what I mean-LOL. So again I stopped going to church. I meant to find another...but I didn't really know where to start. I could open the phone book and point...but I might end up in the Spanish speaking church (nothing wrong with those but I don't speak enough Spanish anymore to be beneficial and my kids sure don't!!!).
SO....I started checking out some churces and found one I think I like. I drove by several times after checking out their website. It took me about 4 weeks to work up the courage to go. Today we went to the 11 a.m. Contemporary Service. It was GREAT!! tonight I took the boys to the Youth Group meeting. Mr. I-AM-A-TEEN-THEREFORE_AM-ENTITLED-TO-BE-DIFFICULT poo-poo'd it saying he was bored. But Garret LOVED it. So we will continue to go and check things out. They have lots of things going on with the youth from Seth's age and older!!! This makes me very HAPPY! I want these kids to get involved with a great youth group!
OH and Mr. TEENAGER is going to go back to youth group-BECAUSE I SAID SO AND I AM THE MOM THAT'S WHY. I just want him to give it a chance!! He doesn't like change very well and is nervous about meeting all the new people which is surprising since he's a very social boy.
Poor Courtney was JEALOUS-she wanted to go to youth group so badly. I didn't tell her that after I got there i was told they had something for her too...OOPS. I didn't know!!! Honest!
