Hi! Welcome to my blog! Today, I am sharing my mini kit curated from my stash for the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog. Each month, one of the Master Forgers chooses a kit for us to use as inspiration to create our own kits. This month, Master Forger Julene chose a kit from Citrus Twist Kits. Here's a photo of the kit for you to check out!
As you can see, this kit is full of Maggie Holmes with a little bit of Bo Bunny thrown in. It's a softer color palette, but still lends to creating a kit that suits your needs. If you need help doing so, check out Master Forger Julene's post, Just The Gist Of It, which will give you ideas on how to make a kit your very own.
I have never had the mini kit duties and honestly, I wasn't sure I could pull it off because I normally make HUGE kits! However, Master Forger Julene sweet talked me into doing it for March so I have given it my best shot! So, while this may NOT be your idea of a mini kit, trust me when I say it's MINI. I pulled from my stash of Bo Bunny papers from the same collection as in the original kit. I also used a Maggie Holmes patterned paper that was very similar to the one in the inspiration kit and came from my February CKCB kit. One less patterned paper to put away, right? I added two sets of phrases and a mini alpha. My floral embellishments are actually flowers that I fussy cut from a Maggie Holmes patterned paper that I had set aside to use "someday". Well, someday is this month! I also pulled some bits and pieces from another Crate Paper set of ephemera, some twine and trim, and some of my wonderful labels that I use all the time. That rounds out my kit.
While you are on mini kit duties, you also need to make at least one project using your kit so I'll be sharing that below as well. I printed some selfies that I took of my husband and I on a surprise outing that he planned for our 25th wedding anniversary in 2017. I really loved how this layout came out and I even created a process video for you, which you can watch HERE.
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today! Make sure you check out the original mini kit post on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog as well to see what Master Forger Jody created this month as well. You WILL be amazed. I am. Have a GREAT day.
