Another Mixed Media Layout Share!

Today, I want to share a layout that I created with my August 2021 CKCB Kit.  I created this layout with some fun Glitter Paste from Bo Bunny!  It was kind of like having Stickles in a jar!  It dried pretty quickly too, which is nice if you are in a hurry. I typically allow a mixed media background to dry overnight but this one only took a couple of hours!

I also used some 28 Lilac Lane Kit - Sew Crafty (LL116) from Buttons Galore and More.  I really love the colors in this kit and it matched my August kit so, I put it in there!  I used the floral sequins and the flat back pearls.  They look really cute together!  I also added the crochet floral trim as an anchor for my photo and the layered mats.

I hope that today finds you feeling blessed!  Thank you for stopping by my blog today!

CKCB August 2021 - Layout #1 and Challenge #1

I am finally digging into my August 2021 CKCB kit!  I just love this kit so much so it was painful to wait to dig into while my granddaughter was here at the end of July and early August.  This month at CKCB we are using a kit from Germany as our inspiration and I chose to do more blues for my own kit because I have several pictures coming up to scrapbook that have predominantly blue in them!

Lisa, our fearless leader, gave us this challenge to complete for our first challenge in August:

Many years ago, I did a year-long scrapbook class with Heidi Swapp and I have to say that I learnt a lot of sound basics that are still part of my scrappy repertoire today. As this kit is full of gorgeous Heidi products, it reminded me of that class. One of the design principles that I use the most is using the diagonal for your page. Place elements on a diagonal to draw your line down through the page - whichever direction that might be.

Today, use a "diagonal" design on your page!

I really wanted to play with mixed media on a layout after not being able to really scrapbook while little miss was here, so I started with some texture paste and a stencil.  I put the paste onto smooth white cardstock at a diagonal and then built up a background with sprays, inks, paint, and stamps.  I actually didn't know what photos I was going to use when I started, but found these back to school photos of Seth in 2013 to use.  I added some Buttons Galore and More products to my background...these beautiful hearts from Sparkletz (SPK140-Hearts & Kisses) plus some beads and buttons from their 28 Lilac Lane Kit (LL116-Sew Crafty) that I had included in my August 2021 CKCB kit.

Here's the layout itself!  I am quite proud of how it came out!

I love getting messy in my scrappy space!  How about you?  Do you play with mixed media on your layouts or journals!  I hope you try it at least once!!!  Thank you for checking out my blog today.

Toadally Awesome Card

I have loved these Sprinkletz with the little green frogs and flowers. Froggies are my fave!  I wanted to create a cute shaker card using these.

I used NK142 - Rib It Sprinkletz and PZ104 - Tie Dye Pearlz as fillers for my shaker card.  This turned out so cute!  Those froggies are adorable!!

Happy Monday!  Thank you for stopping by my blog today!

Big Fat Toad...

I have been diligently attempting to stay caught up with the Allison Davis Sketches For 6x6 Paper Pads-One Page Sketches this summer.  I am going to tell you that seeing a sketch with one inch squares made me pause...the entire WEEK!  Then, I decided to suck it up and just start working.  I used some photos of a big fat toad that I found during a walk.  I am forever picking them up and grossing out Emily!  LOL!!

This layout came together super easy after I started working.  My embellishment clusters feature buttons from Buttons Galore and More Basic Buttons (HB102-1 Luck).  There are some super huge buttons in my package that I received as part of the BGM Design Team and I felt that they'd make great bases for my embellishment clusters in this sketch.  I was thrilled to use up so many buttons on this layout!

Thank you for stopping by my blog today!  Have a great weekend!

One In A Million - Card

Hi!  I hope that this beautiful summer day has you creating something pretty in your craft room.  I am here to share with you a card that I made for the Buttons Galore and More Design Team.  I needed a special card for a friend and what better way to say hello than with watermelons?!?

I used Fancy Pants Hometown Summer patterned paper plus some Sprinkletz (NK145 Summer Melon) to create this cute little card.  I also added a Sugar Shopped Glitter Button (US102-Granny Smith) in the upper left hand corner.  This card was simple to created and turned out perfectly with my Buttons Galore and More embellishments!

Thank you for stopping by today!  Have a great Thursday!

Sparkler Fun!

I am here today to share with you a layout I created using some wonderful new Buttons Galore and More products that I just fell in love with the moment that I saw them.

Can you see those beautiful acrylic stars????  Oh my goodness!  I love them and I would love to have them in every single color of the rainbow!!!  These acrylic stars were provided to me by Buttons Galore and More as a member of their current Design Team.  They are from their Sparkletz line of embellishments (SPK120-Patriotic Stars).  I also used some buttons from BGM on this layout as well.  I used Red and white buttons from HB101-Love and light blue buttons from their Button Fusion (BF107 - Blues Medley).  Buttons are still one of my absolute favorite embellishments to use as a finisher for a layout or other project.

I really loved adding those stars to my layout!

They just bring out the "sparkle"!

I hope that you have a wonderful July 4th!  Thank you for stopping by my blog today!

Hey Sunshine Card

Today I created a layered background shaker card for the Buttons Galore and More Design Team.

I wanted to do some mixing of the various products that I have received from Buttons Galore and More, including the cute little Sprinkletz fishies (NK138 - Fish Tank).  I cut several wave borders in varying colors of blue cardstock using a cut file from Silhouette Studio.  Then I used some craft foam to create a window to layer the stencil material and patterned paper (My Mind's Eye Necessities).  I filled the shaker with NK138 - Fish Tank, seed beads and sequins from LL116 - Sew Crafty, sequins from LL506 - Peacock Feathers, and LL329 North Star.

Thank you for checking out my blog today!  Have a great Thursday!

Hello Card

I created another "hello" card for Buttons Galore and More using some of their newest Sprinkletz in my shaker!!  These tiny frogs and flowers are just so cute!

I used some Jen Hadfield patterned paper and old striped ribbon from my stash.  I also cut out a cute little frog.  I created a layered scalloped circle die cut shaker using some Sprinkletz (NK142 - Rib It and NK140 - Pastel Blooms) for the filling.   I finished off the card with some hand stitching.

You should check out the newest Sprinkletz out over at Buttons Galore and More!

Memorial Day Card

Today is the day that we honor our fallen military members in the United States-Memorial Day.  I created a card to honor them.  It's such a great job to serve our country and so few are called to do so.  I can't help but remember those lives given in service.

I used 28 Lilac Lane Mix Glittering Stars (PS768) for the shaker behind my kneeling soldier.  I also added Sugar Shoppe Glitter Buttons Blue Lagoon (SUS109) to the front of my card.

As you go about your normal day today, think about the brave men and women who have died to gain our freedom and to keep it. Happy Memorial Day.

Hello!

I wanted to create a shaker element to use on a future scrapbooking layout.   I like to have special elements for a page!  I created this shaker box with a floral wreath cutfile from my Sihouette Studio software.  I added yellow centers to the flowers from the Halloween Party Doo Dadz mix.  Then I mixed Sparkletz Mermaid and Sprinkletz My Treat to use as the filler for my shaker.  I finished off my little shaker box with a button from Sweet Delights collection and the glittery word from Sparkling Sentiments Fall.  I added a little bit of pink bakers twine in a bow on the corner and I have a cute little embellishment for a layout!

I hope that you had a wonderful weekend and that Monday behaves itself for you! Have a great day and thank you for stopping by my blog!

Me And You

Today, I am sharing a layout that I created as a starting page for an album about my cat, Jasper. Yes, I have become a crazy cat lady.  Or a cat mom.  Or a crazy cat mom.  LOL!  I take so many photos of this little guy and he's always around me in the house.  I personally think he's just as attached to me as I am to him.  I just love him.  I wanted to hand-stitch some sequins on a page.  I decided to create my layout around this sunburst design on half of my white cardstock.

I really enjoy hand-stitching on my layouts and adding the sequins brought some dimension and texture to my page.  I anchored my photo on some banners that I cut from some scraps.  I tucked some embellishments behind the photo.  Finally, I added three labels to the lower right corner for my journaling and a bit of washi.  It really IS a simple page, but the stitching makes it look complicated.

Thank you for stopping by today and have a great Thursday!

Hello....

Hey!  I am bringing you a bright card that I made today.  I used lots and lots of 28 Lilac Lane mixes on this card.  You could say that I raided the buttons from them...and if you DID say that, you'd be absolutely accurate!  Haha!  Buttons are my favorite!

I used Citrus Punch (LL539), Glittering Stars (LL541), Cherries In Bloom (LL538), Spring Blooms (LL547), and Coming Up Clover (LL530).  You can snag some of these mixes over at Buttons Galore and More!  Tell them that I sent ya!!

This card just makes me smile with its bright colors and happy rainbow!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Heart!

I am still playing with my February CKCB kit that I curated last month!  I found an adorable photo of my daughter bringing me flowers she had picked while playing outside in the Spring of 2013.  I loved this photo so much at the time and have been looking forward to scrapbooking it!

I started this layout by creating a watercolor background on a piece of plain white cardstock for the base of my layout.  Then, I created another watercolor background to cut my wheel cutfile with my Cameo.  I really like how my wheel turned out!!  I popped it up onto my background with foam tape before setting out to embellish my layout!  I used the flowers that I had fussy cut from patterned paper included in my February kit and tucked them here and there along one side of my wheel.  I used some foam tape on a few to add some dimension.  I also used Glossy Accents to add some texture to the flowers. I also hand-stitched a border on my background before adding my photos, title, and final embellishments.

Here's what my final layout looks like!

Buttons Galore and More have come out with some beautiful new 28 Lilac Lane mixes.  I have several to play with and pulled two of the mixes to embellish my layout. I used Cherries In Bloom (LL538) and Glittering Stars (LL541) to add the final touches to my layout!  I am very happy with how this one turned out!   Most of you know that buttons are my favorite embellishment for every page and now I am really enjoying sequins as well!

I hope you have a fantastic week!  Happy Monday!

Seaside Adventure

Today, I am bringing you a layout that I created as part of the Buttons Galore and More Design Team.  They have just got in some beautiful new 28 Lilac Lane mixes and I was lucky enough that they sent some for me to play with.  I am torn between hoarding this beautiful goodness and creating with it!  LOL!!  I really wanted to put some of those pretty flower sequins on the Cherries In Bloom mix on a layout.  They are absolutely gorgeous!!!

I started this layout by playing with my watercolors and a plain white cardstock.  I wish that you could see more of them but I ended up covering most of that fun.  I also played around with some black splatters as well.  Those are a bit more evident. I recently bought a collection of Sunny Days from Peachy Cheap and decided to break into it right away for this layout.  I had so much fun adding all the small details.  I used 28 Lilac Lane Cherries In Bloom (LL538), 28 Lilac Lane Ann's Quilt (LL544), Pearlz Tahitian (PZ100), and Pearlz Fresh Water (PZ101) to add some special sparkle to my layout.

I hope you have a great Tuesday!  Thank you for stopping by!

Thinking of You card

Hi!  Buttons Galore and More have really released some beautiful new 28 Lilac Lane products for you to use on your projects!  One of my favorite is the Hello, Cupcake kit!  It has charms, buttons, sequins, seed beads, felt hearts, ribbon, and pearl flat backs!   I needed a Thinking of You card for a friend and set out to create one with this kit!!!

I realize that this is supposed to be a birthday themed kit, but these kits are really versatile and you can use them on just about anything!  I hope this card helps you to think outside the box with your supplies and create some beautiful cards and other projects!  Have a great Thursday!

Shaking up my layouts!

Today, I am sharing another layout that I created for the Buttons Galore and More Design Team!  The DT members all received some beautiful new products from BGM to play with and the new 28 Lilac Lane Glittering Stars is one of my favorites from their new mixes!   It's so beautiful!  I really wanted to include this mix on a scrapbook layout and was playing around with the idea of making a 12x12 shaker page.

I mulled that idea around in my brain all night one night.  Hey!  What's a girl to do when she can't sleep?!!?  She creates!  I finally decided that a border around this photo would definitely fit the bill of a shaker page!  I cut a rounded square out of the middle of my vellum with my Cameo and saved that square piece for another project.  Then I layered the 12x12 border over a piece of lavender cardstock!  I used my paper piercer to create the holes for my hand-stitching.  I used DMC floss to stitch around the sides.  I did fill each side as if it were a separate shaker and then closed it off. As I worked around the cardstock, I was able to manipulate the sequin and button mix around.  They do move freely in between the vellum and cardstock. After I finished my shaker element, I layered up patterned paper, die cuts, and other embellishments.  This was an easy shaker element to create and really draws your eyes to the photo of my daughter and husband.

Here's a close-up of my shaker border:

I also added some pretty Shimmering Half Pearl Flat Backs and a cupcake charm from the 28 Lilac Lane Hello, Cupcake kit.  You can find that kit here.

Thank you for checking in with me this fine, Monday morning!  Have a great week.

Large Title and a Shaker Element!

Hey!  Today, I am bringing you a project that I created for ButtonD#57446s, Galore, and More using some of their newest product that I recently received in my hot, little hands!  I used 28 Lilac Lane Ann's Quilt (LL554) to create a shaker element in my large cutfile title!

This was a very easy element to create.  I used a cut file purchased in Silhouette Design Store.  I used Simple Stories Design ID #57446.  I ungrouped the title in Silhouette Studio and stacked the letters in sets of two on top of one another as you see on my layout.  I did off-set them a little to leave room for the photo.  Once I cut the letters, I used a paper piercer and hole punched around each letter and the heart so that I could hand stitch around them.  For the shaker in the heart, I layered a piece of white tulle in the opening and left a side open so I could fill it with the 28 Lilac Lane button and sequin mix.  Once I filled my shaker, I completed the hand stitching!  Super easy!  I also layered this background on a piece of patterned paper and hand stitched the white background to it using a blue thread.

I mentioned in a previous post that I am participating in a Bash Bowl on a Facebook Group.  This layout was my Touchdown layout!  I did all of the elements plus the technique! I think it's my favorite layout that I completed last week!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a GREAT Wednesday!

Is it time for...

Valentine's Day yet?  I mean, an excuse to eat chocolate and watch sappy movies, RIGHT?  I created my husband's Valentine's Day card early this year.  I normally am staying up the night before trying to make a cute card at the last minute, but this year, I am on top of it.  Unless, I lose it...yikes! LOL!

First off, I created a rectangle shape in Silhouette Studio and then centered it on my cutting mat so that it would cut a card with a framed front opening.  I was super proud of how I managed to do that without making too many mistakes and wasting cardstock!  Next, I pierced holes into the frame and hand-stitched with some DMC embroidery floss that matched the patterned paper I had chosen for this card.

I stamped some images from an old set of Close To My Heart Stamps that I bought and have never used. They are This Moment (S1501).  I stamped the target in red onto white cardstock and then die cut it and mounted it on a die cut piece of foam. I stamped the sentiment onto black cardstock with Versamark and then heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  Once it was cooled down, I fussy cut the sentiment and layered it onto my target.

For my shaker element, I cut down a piece of red cardstock and stamped it twice with a border stamp.  I inserted this into a shaker that I handmade from a page protector with my Fuse tool.  I filled it with some beautiful products from Buttons Galore and More:  Blue Bali Mason Jar Mix (MJ108), 28 Lilac Lane Pearls & Lace (LL510), Sparkletz Peppermint Jazz (SPK124), and 28 Lilac Lane Snow Day (LL128). All of those pieces are so fun and really look cute in my shaker!

I do have a place on the inside of the card for another sentiment.  I'll stamp it onto either red or white cardstock and handwrite something mushy for him later!!  Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope that this inspires you to drag out your Valentine's supplies early and make some cards for your loved ones.  I think that this year, our family members need some extra love!

Snow Many....

I have recently started making cards.  If you know me, you know that I've never really enjoyed making cards BUT I needed a way to use up some of the little bits and pieces that I kept saving! And I discovered that I liked to challenge myself with the card making process!

I used my Distress Ink pads and snowflake stamps with heat embossing to make the background.  My sentiment was created with a Silhouette Studio cutfile that I cut multiples of to layer onto my card.

The smaller sentiment is popped up with foam tape.   I used a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer on "thanks" to add some sparkle.  I added some Pearlz (Cobalt PZ106) to my card surrounding my sentiment.  I am really happy with how this turned out!

Can you see that shimmer!  I promise you that it's super pretty in person!!

This card front was so much fun to make. I really enjoyed turning my fingers blue!  HAHA!!  Thank you for stopping by today!  Have a great day!!

Beach Treasures Layout

Hey!  How did you fare over the holidays?  I know that this season is so different than what most are used to and so I really hope that you all were able to make some beautiful memories despite living in a Pandemic.  Our family has had a great holiday and are ready to get into the rest of our homeschool year!

Today, I am sharing a layout that I created using some great paper products from Hip Kit Club monthly kits.  I wasn't really a huge fan of this particular kit and it's been sitting in its baggie in a corner of my space waiting for me to decide what to do with it.  I really needed some bright papers for the photos I was working with and these totally fit the bill!  When we were stationed in Georgia, we had a Black Friday tradition of going to the beach to play!  Sometimes, it was just me and a friend, but in these particular photos, I had taken my three youngest kids out to Tybee Island.  My husband was overseas for a year long tour.  My second born was hanging out with his buddies that day and my oldest was living in Missouri with my mom.  My goal while Patrick was in Korea was to keep us busy!  Off to the beach in November for a photo shoot and playtime!

I also added some great Buttons Galore and More product to embellishment my page! I used Blue Bali Mason Jar Mix (MJ108) and Pearlz (Tie Dye PZ104).

I really think these small details draw your eyes across my page and they are just plain fun to play with! I am so happy with how this layout turned out. Thank you for stopping by my blog today!  Have a GREAT Tuesday!!
