CKCB - January 2023 Challenge #2

Hey!  It's time for another challenge over at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog! For this challenge, Master Forger Lisa asked us to think back to when we first began scrapbooking and find a technique that we used to use often that has now gone by the wayside.  Use that technique and make it new again!!  After all it is a month of new beginnings, right?

I decided to bring out my old foam stamps by Making Memories and some acrylic paints to create a background for my layout!  This was a technique that I loved and used OFTEN back in the day when it first came out.  I loved playing with messy paints and stamps.  So much fun!

I have forgotten how much paint makes me happy!!!

I even love the imperfectness of the paint!!

I created a process video for you which you can find on my YouTube Channel if you would like to see how my layout came about.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today!  Have a wonderful day!!!

Another Mixed Media Layout Share!

Today, I want to share a layout that I created with my August 2021 CKCB Kit.  I created this layout with some fun Glitter Paste from Bo Bunny!  It was kind of like having Stickles in a jar!  It dried pretty quickly too, which is nice if you are in a hurry. I typically allow a mixed media background to dry overnight but this one only took a couple of hours!

I also used some 28 Lilac Lane Kit - Sew Crafty (LL116) from Buttons Galore and More.  I really love the colors in this kit and it matched my August kit so, I put it in there!  I used the floral sequins and the flat back pearls.  They look really cute together!  I also added the crochet floral trim as an anchor for my photo and the layered mats.

I hope that today finds you feeling blessed!  Thank you for stopping by my blog today!

Happy Heart!

I am still playing with my February CKCB kit that I curated last month!  I found an adorable photo of my daughter bringing me flowers she had picked while playing outside in the Spring of 2013.  I loved this photo so much at the time and have been looking forward to scrapbooking it!

I started this layout by creating a watercolor background on a piece of plain white cardstock for the base of my layout.  Then, I created another watercolor background to cut my wheel cutfile with my Cameo.  I really like how my wheel turned out!!  I popped it up onto my background with foam tape before setting out to embellish my layout!  I used the flowers that I had fussy cut from patterned paper included in my February kit and tucked them here and there along one side of my wheel.  I used some foam tape on a few to add some dimension.  I also used Glossy Accents to add some texture to the flowers. I also hand-stitched a border on my background before adding my photos, title, and final embellishments.

Here's what my final layout looks like!

Buttons Galore and More have come out with some beautiful new 28 Lilac Lane mixes.  I have several to play with and pulled two of the mixes to embellish my layout. I used Cherries In Bloom (LL538) and Glittering Stars (LL541) to add the final touches to my layout!  I am very happy with how this one turned out!   Most of you know that buttons are my favorite embellishment for every page and now I am really enjoying sequins as well!

I hope you have a fantastic week!  Happy Monday!
