Gathering grasses

Seth and Emily are learning about the days of creation. We are on Day 3 and are talking about grass. The objective today was to go outside and gather different types of "grasses". For our purposes anything that is low to the ground but not a bush or flower is a grass (or so Interlock says). So we went outside (IN THE COLD MIND YOU-LOL) and gathered our grass samples. Then we brought them inside and talked about them, for Language Arts Seth described them in descriptive language. Fun. For an art project, Seth was to draw a picture of an animal that eats grass. Did he choose a horse? NO! Did he choose a cow? NO!! He chose a deer and a bunny!!!! LOL!!!!

What an awesome activity! I love how you are bringing the outdoors inside and using them across multiple lessons!
